Becoming a Christian is not difficult as to the how. Here are the “ABC’s” of how to be saved.

A-cknowledge your need for a Savior. The Bible is clear–every person who has ever lived is a sinner both by nature and by action.

Romans 3.10, 23 , “As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one. . . for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 5.12 , “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.”

Because of our sin, we are under the righteous judgment of God.

Romans 6.23 , “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ”

John 3.36 , “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

B-elieve in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Acts 16.31 , “"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.”

John 3.16 , “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Believing in Christ involves believing in who He is, the perfect Son of God.

John 8.24 , “if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

Believing in Christ also involves trusting in what He has done for those who believe, dying for their sin.

John 1.29 , “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’”

Romans 5.8 , “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 6.23 , “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

C-onfess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Public and open acknowledgment of Christ as Savior is an effective way to express faith in Him.

Romans 1.4 , [Jesus has been] “declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.”

Matthew 10.32-32 , “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.”

Romans 10.9-10, 13 “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. . . For ‘whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.’”

The difficult part in becoming a Christian is the willingness to admit our need of a Savior and to call upon the name of the Lord. If you recognize your helpless spiritual condition as a sinner, doomed to eternal judgment by a Holy God, you need to place your trust in Jesus Christ today.

2 Corinthians 6.2 , “behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Revelation 22.17 , “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.”

If you have trusted Christ as Savior, let us know so that we may rejoice with you.
